"Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.

God does hear our prayers although He does not always answer them the way we hope. This did not stop Hezekiah from pleading with God. No matter how bright or bleak the future may look, the most important thing we can do is to have our eternity taken care of. Have we made Jesus our Lord and Saviour? Have we discovered His love? Next, we ought to be honest with God. A good friend is an honest friend. God seeks our honesty. We can tell Him when we're afraid or sad or discouraged. We should also remember to share our excitement and gratitude with Him.

Here we see in this chapter and verse that Hezekiah's prayer and faith in God he was healed and gained 15 years of life. And as Christians today we pray and Jesus heals He gives us more time to live, but the life He gives us won't last forever. The ultimate healing for us comes at Resurrection, when our dead bodies will be glorified and taken to heaven where we will live forever.

God heard his prayer and healed him. On the third day he was to go to the temple of the Lord. Just as God heard the prayers and cries he sent his Son to die on the cross and take our sins and on the third day to rise again.

I absolutely love this story! This is my all time favorite story. It shows Gods love for us. Hezekiah was supposed to die but because he was bold to talk to the Lord in such a manner the Lord saved him. God isnt looking for shy and held back people Hes looking for bold confident people to go out and preach His word. Hes looking for those who can go out and win souls not those who will go out and follow but those who can lead. God looks for boldness and true He looks for availability not ability...

Surely Jonah, in Jonah 4:2b, is right when he said that the Lord is a kind, merciful and patient God who always shows His love and do not like to punish anyone. The Lord is especially kind to His own people. He not only heard the prayer of Hezekiah and seen his tears, but the Lord also healed Hezekiah so that Hezekiah would be able to go into the temple of the Lord to worship and praise the Lord for the wonderful things the Lord has done for him.
