2 Kings 16:2
Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God.

Ahaz's reign was halfhearted to say the least. He completely denied his need for God and disobeyed God's laws, even sacrificing his own son to pagan gods.

How a parent could be so deceived, to allow the sacrifice of his son to a false god. Unimaginable. God bless, Timothy.

Curious? Where were the priests and prophets during these years. Were they not following the Lord either or were their voices just not being heard anymore or did they not have any more influence over their society and culture? A dangerous situation. In some respect we are living in times like these. The church is having little or no influence in our society (so it seems). People are worshiping the gods of this world - TV, Hollywood, sports, money, pleasure, drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, etc. We as the church must become strong and courageous and not fear and become the holy nation of priests God wants us to be. We need to humble ourselves and pray so that God can heal our land.

Yes, we need to get out of our pristine chapped and get out there and love on these people, in Jesus name. Stop waiting for them to chime to us, then judge them if they DO come cuz they don't measure up to our standards.
