We can apply this to us. God does not take lightly that people have idols in their life. He has given us commands to not have any Gods before Him, and He will punish people accordingly. today still people are not serving God with all there Hearts ther still holding on to gods they put before him. we spend way to much time on other things and not enough time with God in his word and in prayer with God.!!

1 Samuel 7:3 - 1. Return to the Lord. 2. Clean house and get rid of anything and everything that is not pleasing to the Lord. 3. Pour out you heart to the Lord as they did by in verse 6 by pouring out their water and fasting and confessing their sin. 4. Don't stop praying as Sammy continued to pray in verse 7. In verse 8 Sammy offer up a lamb. We do not have to do this because the Lamb of God, Jesus, has already been offered.

This is fustrating because you would think the isrealites would get it by now...DON'T WORSHIP IDOLS! But on the other hand this verse blesses me because it reminds me of Gods mercy because even though we don't bow down to statues we still make idols of people places and things created in our hearts over and over again. Thank you Lord for your constant love.
