1 Samuel 17:47
All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord 's, and he will give all of you into our hands."
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
David put his total trust in the Lord, that He would deliver the Philistine giant into his hand, that he would kill the Philistine. David's trust in the Lord gave him the victory. Then the other Israelites took courage and defeated the Philistines, slaughtering many of them as they fled. As we today, walk in the fear of the Lord, He will give us strength. 2Cor 5:11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust also that we are revealed in your consciences.

The Lord is our power, if only we will realize it. As we walk in the ways of our Lord, He will protect and empower us. Thank You, Lord.

Facing Giant Problems like David did with Goliath, that was a Big Problem of life and Death. We as Christians deal with our own private battles that are with in ourselves. And we can look back at the story of David and Goliath and how David dealt with his Giant Problem. It all comes down to this all our Problems and Battles are The Lords.

With the eyes of the Israelite army watching David stepped up to fight the giant. Goliath looked at David and all he say was a shepherd with a sling and he laughed but only those with spiritual eyes could see that David wasn't alone. David could face the giant because God was with him. How often do we size up a problem and forget "the battle is the Lords?" Let us all learn from David. God doesn't leave us alone in this world to face "giants" by our selves. He promises to be with us always!

The account of David and Goliath is probably as well know as the birth of Jesus by most. It gives the little guy courage when faced with something bigger than one thinks he can handle. When God is on our side, all things are possible. We do not have to fear. He gives us strength and wisdom to accomplish what is before us. It is also interesting that its says twice that he ran towards Goliath in this fight ... not away. Stand firm in the Lord and resist the devil and he will flee from you and you will be victorious.

Here, as he faces Goliath, David tells him who his God is and the power He has and it doesn't matter about their size, swords and spears but that they are facing the true God Almighty and He will destroy them. It is well for us to remember that if we are serving the God of David, we can conquer any obstacle before us so long as we are walking in His ways. God revealed Himself that day to the Philistines and He will do it for us IF were are truly following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I refer again to 2Chronicles 7:14 that I consider to be a critical passage today, as it was over 2500 years ago when it was spoken. God never changes and all our knowledge and technology can't replace Him, the I AM. Our world is a mess today but only because we have tried to replace God with knowledge, technology and our own self esteem. My thoughts.
