1 Chronicles 14:10
so David inquired of God: "Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?"The Lord answered him, "Go, I will deliver them into your hands."
Patty B. from Dallas, GA said:
David knew his strength came from God and not from his own doing. Lord, I pray for our nations leaders. I pray they will know their strength does not come themselves but from you and you alone. I pray for the people of this country, that we would come together as one and stop the fighting amongst ourselves.

Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Seeking God in time of need, David sought God's direction before he acted. He waited for God's answer before he attacked. We need to continually seek God's direction and ask for it. We need to depend on God more.

David is doing the correct thing in asking God before he goes in to battle, whether it is the thing to do or not. He probably went to the high priest and had him to ask of God. We are not told exactly how he did it,just that he did it. David knows when God tells him to go,he will be with him and David and his men will win the battle. When the Lord fights for you ,there is no way to lose.

Normally the King depended on the priest or prophet (e,g, Samuel) to inquire of the Lord ... just going from memory. Here we see David doing this ... talking to the Lord and receiving instruction directly like we do. I know He had a strong relationship with the Lord as a shepherd and when he was being pursued by God. First time I have really noticed it said this way. Obvious question that now comes to mind. Did God answer David audibly or in his minds heart (like He does us)?
