Reminds me of the New Testament where the saints face persecution as though they were evildoers. The darkness hates the light. We believe the truth which is but foolishness to those in the dark. They ridicule us because of it. We ought to pray and bear witness of the truth to them no matter what we face because there will be some that will be saved from that darkness and we may be the only preacher they ever hear. If they are not saved, God's wrath will abide on them.

What God has commanded will surely come to pass. By faith in His promises we are confident in the hope that He has set before us. While we enjoy the peace and joy that comes with that confident trust, the unsaved have a fate that is just as sure.

The Lord gives His assurance that He is with us through the fiery trials. He is working for His good pleasure as well as for our well-being. He goes before us and destroys the enemy to make way for us. He provides salvation among the ungodly nations. He loves us like the best father by disciplining us so that we will turn to Him with reverence. He shows us the way to go and leads us to walk in it. Although we are still with sin in these earthly bodies, he still loves us and will save us from eternal destruction while destroying those who do not turn to Him for salvation.

We are saved because we have our trust in The Lord and Him alone. Only He is able to save us eternally. Only faith is acceptable and pleasing to Him. Nothing else will be acceptable without it springing from faith. His promises are true and He will bring them to pass. Amen.
