Psalms 8:4
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

Comparing myself to God's wonderous works mentioned in verse 3, realizing I occupy such a tiny speck on the horizon of planet Earth, how miniscule I am. Yet, the Great Master that created and arranged the limitless heavens and all therein, knows insignificant 'me'. Not only knows me, but has a plan laid out for me. Has given massive forethought to my entire mortal life and has prepared a place for me with Him, the King of Kings, for the rest of eternity. How can you read this chapter and not feel completely humbled by your own total dependence on your Heavenly Father?

Job 37:5
God's voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.

When I think of a thundering voice I think of a frightening experience, but this verse indicates that the sound is marvelous. I consider the tweet of a bird as a marvelous sound, or the laugh of a child, but a thundering voice...marvelous? This is the wonderment of our Father. He is so great, so powerful, so expansive that his voice will fill our ears with more sound and volume that we ever thought possible. His ways are not for us to yet behold and understand fully, they are beyond our understanding, but one day all will be made crystal clear and we will understand the facets of His being that we currently can not know. What a wonderful event to look forward to. Glorious eternity where the doors swing inward only and no tears fall.

Great insight Deborah, but i love a thunderstorm, to me it shows us a small tad of God's magnificent power. But, on the other hand, i understand the damage that comes with it.

Job 35:12
He does not answer when people cry out
because of the arrogance of the wicked.

In this verse I think Elihu may be taunting Job a bit; why else would He submit to Job's suffering? Doubt is a sour and lingering drink. The evil one desires to plant the seed of doubt int he hearts of the righteous even when the use of a friend as the messanger is necessary. Belief, faith, and confidence are necessary tools to fend off the invitation of doubt and dispair. Remembering our Master is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords; He hears each prayer and all in His time.

Job 31:14
what will I do when God confronts me?
What will I answer when called to account?

I am a sinner. Knowing God's promise, knowing Jesus is interceeding for me, a sinner, encourages me to be aware of my words and deeds, my thoughts and actions, and brings about a desire to be entertaining and pleasing in God's eyes. What will I answer when called to account? I will no doubt fall to my knees and ask forgiveness, I am a sinner. But I am a sinner who loves the Father and ernestly desires to be a better person and Christian because of the knowledge that I am accountable.

Amen! There is no way to account for our deeds. As you have indicated, God's saving grace through Christ is our only means of salvation.

To be absent of God as the guidepost of life, and the supplier of all one's need, life is nothing but a fleeting void with no meaning, no joy, no promise; only suffering and anguish.
