"Be on your guard..." I receive this as a command from the 'Shepherd'. After reading Mt. 10:16-20, and gaining a new perspective (Thank you Jesus); I receive this as a command. To me I receive it as Jesus saying, "Ok guys, stay alert and always listen for my voice. I have brought you into fresh, tender green pastures with still restful waters, however wolves are here. So remember, I AM your Shepherd I will do all the fighting, but you must be alert so I can tell you what to do, what to say, when they are coming, etc." So with this command, I am using it as a great reason to continue to search His word (Bible) so I can continue to learn what He "sounds" like, so I will KNOW His voice and respond to it immediately.

Jesus points out how rare such faith is to find. We need to believe God's word and have such faith as the centurion had. With God, noothing is impossible.

I think many Christians have forgotten this admonition to put God first. There are so many things trying to grab our attention. My daily prayer is to stay focissed on the Lord and allow Him to be the Lord in my life.
