The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives.

I think it's interesting that the rich gave more or less the same as a poor person. In the book of James, God instructs us through the half-brother of Jesus not to play favorites between the rich and the poor. James 2:9 says to show partiality is to commit sin. So I see how the LORD loves the rich and the poor equally.
