God's word is as double edged sword intended to surgically cleanse the believer of filthy snares that takes root in the flesh through sin. In today's political correctness culture, some preachers and stewards of the Word deliver softened version of messages in order not to offend. Result, sympathizers who are soft in the faith.

The pastor or teacher is called to correct us when necessary... step on our toes. The rebuke is actually healing, a warning to protect us, to bring us back to God, to bring us to wholeness and fruitfulness.
