With all that's going on in David's life he calls out to God to deliver him from his enemies, he can't do it by himself, he relies on God's strength. Some times we get caught up in things and we loose our focus on God and we forget to rely on Him. Father God help me to rely on you more in times of distressing moments you are my strength and my fortress.

Even when the days look dark and the nights look darker God is with us. He is our strength when we think we can't go any further. Sing praises to him always in the good times and the not so good times. God will always be there to carry us.

I can't relate to the problems that this psalmist is reciting but I can relate to v17 as I look to God for my strength and protection against my any enemies I may have.

Psalm 59:17 – Father in Heaven, things of this world can get me down but i must remember to always look up because You are still on the throne. i will always be thankful for all You have done for me and are still doing. You are completing the good work You started in me. Your mercies are new to me each day therefore i will continually sing praise to You. It is easy to ask for justice for others and beg for mercy for myself. Lord God, You are my Shield and my Strength and i love You more and more each day. My soul sings boastfully of You goodness to me.
