The next section was repaired by the men of Tekoa, but their nobles would not put their shoulders to the work under their supervisors.

In every verse there is team work except here. The nobles would not work with the team.

Notice the only "but". Everywhere else along the wall the work was done and they seemed to operate as a team. But here, the "nobles" didn't do their share of the work. I guess this type of labour was beneath them. They are too good for this type of work. I would imagine Jesus being right in there lugging the stones alongside everyone else despite being King of the Universe. He was a servant leader as was Nehemiah.

Amen, Allan. It is amazing how there's always a portion of the body that seems to think their above the others but they need to remember that Jesus is the final judge. God bless.

Every person put their labor toward the rebuilding, even some of the women and the priests pitched in. The only ones who would not assist with the rebuilding were the nobles of Tekoa. There is always some who rebel against the work of the Lord but I believe there will be a consequence, administered by God, for that hindrance. Help me, Lord, never to be a hindrance to what You are doing in the world to rebuild the kingdom of God here on earth. Amen
