Nehemiah 2:5
and I answered the king, "If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it."

I am impressed by Nehemiah in his fear, yet boldness, makes request of the king to allow him to go and rebuild the wall, receiving favour, protection and resources. However, note that he did spend much time in prayer and fasting with tears before ever approaching the king and letting him know what was troubling him.

Yes, Allan, Nehemiah sought God's favor before he even approached the king. Good lesson for us, when we desire something, to petition and seek God's favor. God bless.

Even though Nehemiah was afraid, he trusted God and through his prayers he sought Gods direction. Nehemiah humbly asked the king for all the request God directed him to ask for and with wisdom inspired by God through faith and prayer, Nehemiah was given words and confidence to speak and ask for what he would need, it must have been so comforting to Nehemiah to feel God working out all the needs for his journey and wil, God was even directing the king with wisdom to provide and offer for a safe journey, Nehemiah was faithful and God provided. We are reminded that whatever Gods plans are for us... that we can truly trust God has every detail covered we can trust and wait upon God,to provide what is needed as we seek his way and will.... rather than work all the details out ourselves we can pray the journey be led and details, wisdom and comfort will be revealed by God, we can trust God will fulfill his promises in ways and at times through people we would never think we could or should seek help from.
