Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

The Lord is calling out for the people to stop disobeying His commands, and to repent and follow His instructions. The Lord requires repentance, not sacrifice, and that is what He requires to this very day. He is a merciful God if the people will but obey His commands. Eze 33:11 Say to them: As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, I have no delight in the death of the wicked, except in the turning of the wicked from his way, and so to live. Turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel? Lord, inspire people of the world to turn to You in righteousness, through Christ our King, that You may turn away Your judgment. Amen

Micah 6:8 - So many people say they don’t know what God wants them to do. Sometimes walking with the Lord is like driving in the fog. You can’t see far ahead until you get there. You have to move forward in the little light you have and then you will be able to see the next step. Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” We may not know where the second or third step ahead is, but we see the signs of the end everywhere and we know the last step we will be with Jesus. When we don’t know something, we always have to fall back on what we do know. We know God wants us to act justly. We must do what we know is right when people are watching and when no one is around. God wants us to love mercy. Sometimes the more we do justly the less we show mercy. Our nature is to want revenge or gossip. We must make it a point look for every opportunity to show mercy. Luke 6:38 is often used out of context. Most people think it is speaking of money but it is speaking of mercy. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:32-38) God wants us to act justly, love mercy and if you do act justly and love mercy do go thinking you are better than those that don’t because God wants us to walk humbly with Him. Jesus has sent that example for us. He was perfect yet humble. The men at my church (GCCC) sang a song about this verse. The song is “Courageous” taken from the movie of the same name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pm1bR3rVRs

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly (Psalm 106:3 Blessed are those who Act Justly, who always do what is right.) and to love mercy(Matthew 9: 13 But go and learn what this means'I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the Righteous, but Sinners) and to walk humbly with God. This is what the Lord requires us to do to have a proper relationship with God.

The Lord does not delight in our Ways of trying to please Him Our good works are as filthy rags. There is nothing in ourselves that is good enough to please God. He wants our hearts to be like his heart. He wants us to love people and to show mercy to forgive those who sin against us. He wants us to humble ourselves. That is how we show our love for God by reaching out to others. And by humbly serving others as Jesus did as our example. He is calling his children his chosen ones of Israel to come back to him.God proves himself over and over again that he is a faithful loving God.. And at times I can be just like the children of Israel God proves himself over and over again and I choose to complain and feel sorry for myself. Lord forgive me and help me to walk humbly with you and never forget all that you've done for me.
