Jesus tells us to persist in knowing God, It takes faith , focus, and follow-through. Continue to ask God for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love and understanding. He will give them to us.

If I ask for wisdom I will receive the Holy Ghost, if I seek I'll find understanding of the Word, when I knock the door of Revelation will be open to me.

This verse is the pomise of the Lord, letting me kow that all I have to do is ask, seek and an knock and I shall receive it. Like most men, I have the problem of doing for myself. At least I use to. I no longer am afraid to ask the Lord for anything, seek his word and knock at any door and talk about our Father. The pride I thought I had was not enough to gain God's favor.

You are so right ,it is prideful to not ask God for help.He is in control not us. Good for you that you have figured it out a lot of people never do and they wonder why nothing works out for them.
