Jesus was obedient to his father and his Purpose on earth. Jesus came to save a world of sinners, obedient to his father's will, and God was pleased with him.

How are you doing Mandy? Do you still feel like God has left you?

Hi Nancy! Great to hear from you, sometimes I feel this way, but am constantly reminded how huge God's love and grace is, I should ask forgiveness for feeling this way. Luckily, I have such a good church and friends, that God has proven himself faithful so many times. My friend prayed with me the other day and she just started sobbing, she said, I sense such a heaviness, and broken heart you have, God is here, he will not leave you and he loves you. She said she just felt the Lord's presence and that she saw a wedding ring circling me. God is so great..I feel he has begun to start good things in my life, restoration and healing. thank you so much for asking me, and thinking about me, it made my day. God bless you Nancy!

This verse say's to me, that as sinners and as we accept Christ as are Savior and are Baptist as Jesus was Baptisted, we show others of our faith in following Jesus Christ. As God was pleased with His Son, so is Jesus very pleased with us.

I must include 3:16 to complete what 3:17 means to me; Here God speaks from Heaven and "acknowledges" His Son for the 1st time: thus we have the Father and Son. In v. 16 the Heavens were opened and the Spirit of God descended like a dove and alighting him. To me this is where the Trinity began: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We wouldn't have Jesus if it were not for God and Jesus said he would send us the Holy Spirit to protect us and to guide us. For me I need all three God "heads" to have an inkling, an understanding of what God's will is for me and to be of service to my fellows. Thank you Jesus!!!

God sent his son to die....for me. What a thought, what an awesome, overwhelming thought. In this verse God speaks and reveals His Son. His Son whom he loved and was well pleased. Can you even begin to imagine sending your beloved son to die for people who are sinners, who are rebellious against you, who are wretched and selfish? That's what God did for me. How He could do this is beyond my comprehension. His beloved Son, His Son who pleased Him...... given for sinful, wretched me. "this is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased".... and this Son He put on a cross. . ... . for me.

When I read this a proud father comes to mind. I love the way the Father speaks from heaven in such delight acknowledging His Son.
