Several times in this chapter it states "so was fulfilled what was said through the prophets" or very similiar. So to will the prophecy be fulfilled concerning His second coming, as has always in the past.

The faith that Joseph had! First God tells him to flea to Egypt. Then, God tells him to return to Israel, but, because it was dangerous there, He is told to to to Galilee instead. How confusing this must have been. He could have second guessed this whole thing and wondered if he had imagined that God was in all of this. But, Joseph just obeyed and trusted God.
I needed to be reminded of this today. My life seems to be so confusing. I try to obey God, yet it seems there are twists and turns in life's road that I cannot understand. This reminded me that God has a reason, He has a plan. I need to be like Joseph and just Trust and Obey.
Thank you, Lord, for your love and guidance. Please help me to trust you every day.

Two things stand out in this chaper: (1) in a dream and (2) fulfillment of what the prophets said. God is in control of the situations involving Joseph, Mary, Jesus and the Magi because they all listen to and obey the messages given to them in their dreams. God further shows me through the fulfillment of Scriptures that the prophets know what will happen to Jesus long before he comes on the scene. God is awesome!!
