Here we see Three wise men coming from afar, they responded to a sign they saw in the heavens because they were men who knew the Word, they were seeking the Messiah, Jesus who was for told by the prophets to be King of the Jews. As sinners in a fallen world man must be wise and watch the signs which are here as scripture says, must continue to Seek the Lord while He may be found. The question we need to ask ourselves today, Are we seeking Jesus Today? Search the Scriptures beware of the signs.

The wise men went to Jerusalem, the place where all the Jewish leaders were first, assuming the leaders would be aware and excited about the birth of their Messiah. What a surprise to find they were all asleep at the wheel and weren't looking for Him at all, Thus knew nothing of His coming Sadly, when Jesus comes the second time, He's gonna find the church sleeping and not looking for Him just like the Jews were upon His first coming. Herod, being true to his character, claimed a desire to worship Jesus and attempted to use wise men to find the child that he may kill Him. When they didn't come back with a report, he felt they'd lied to him. But they never promised to return to Herod. They, being "wise men" after all, probably discerned his eager zeal was not quite so pure as it seemed, and their silence did not mean consent. Since vs says that Herod questioned them to determine when they first saw the star, it must've appeared some months before, guiding them to the general area, and then they went to Jerusalem to gain more information. Then the star appeared again to specifically guide them. The gold the wise men brought them was useful to Joseph. I'm sure it helped him to defray the cost of their journey to Egypt and back. The Heavenly Father knew what their needs would be, and provided for them. It's pretty amazing that we just saw the same star on the 30th of June this year. With all the convergence of events: blood moons, eclipses, world events, the shemeta, financial meltdown, moral meltdown, and now this Bethlehem star, surely God is gearing up for something. We were all born for such a time as this. We need to be in the Word and ready for what's coming, because when all this convergence happens, life, as we know it, will change. If we get an EMP that knocks out our electrical grid, we'll be knocked back to the 1800's. We'll have no running water or food at grocery store, no car with a computer will work, obviously no Internet or phones. Many will perish: people on life support, people on medications, there will be no law enforcement, and anarchy will break out. If that happens, please know, my friends, that I love and cherish each of you. I thank God for every remembrance of you, and know that no matter what, the worst that could happen is we die and go to be with Jesus. Papa God, please don't let me fall asleep at the wheel. May I always remember that Jesus is THE way THE truth and THE light and continue looking up because my redemption draws nigh.

Very good Donna. Reminds me of the EE story where we ask Jesus to take the wheel and we sit in the passengers seat. I think they call it the Hitchhiker story.

I believe, in this case (my thoughts) that God likely created a special star to mark the location of His Son.

Their dedication to serving the Lord and worshipping Him is something that is so important. In a time when travel was not easy, and the dangers around them; yet they wanted to find Him so they could worship Him.

Thw Magi traveled thousands of miles to see the King ig the Jews. When they found Him they responded with joy, worship, and gifts.Today , those who are wise, still seek and worship Jesus not for what they can get but for who He is. Years ago someone ask me why God never does anything for them. I responded,"What have you done for God lately?" If we honer God and do His will, He will supply all our needs, not our wants. Another time, I did not have what was needed to cook meals for a week. I looked through my purse and did not have any money. I fussed to God about not taking care of my needs. I decided to make a note of what I needed to get along for the week for meals. I went to my purse again to find a notepad to write down the items I needed. On the very top of the items in my purse was a five dollar bill. It was not there before! It was just enough to buy the items I needed. God did supply my needs, not my wants. I told God i was sorry for not trusting Him. This happened 35 years ago.
