I think of the world we live in today and the many parents who are mourning for the children who they have lost through gangs, violence, drugs, wars etc. There are children who are still alive
but are lost because of substance abuse and/or destructuve choices which makes their life less than it could be. As parents who know the Living God we too have to weep before Him for the salvation of our children and for a global revival.

For the second time in history a king has ordered the killing of all male children. Just as Moses was saved by his mother so was Jesus saved by his parents. Both children were safe in Egypt. But for the many mothers who's children were slain, there was no comfort.

Oh how my heart goes out to those poor babies and their mothers. How awful that must have been. The prophecy had to be fulfilled, Jesus had to be saved so He could live ,teach, perform miracles ,and ultimately die for our sins. So God had to sacrifice all those children so king Herod would stop searching for him.

The weeping and mourning and refuse to be comforted is because she has lost the children of her womb. The children her . She missed them very deeply in her heart. She wanted them to be with her by her side. It is hard when a mother losses her children. J
