Matthew 19:30
But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Here we see that ones position in life does not give anyone an advantage in gaining Eternal Life or Salvation. Eternal Life is for those who believe in Him, and repent of their sins, and commit themselves to Him. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by Grace you have been saved, through Faith and this is not from yourself , it is a Gift of God.

Well expressed, Peter. There are those who seem to think they can work, or, buy their way into heaven but God will accept the humble before those who try to impress Him by how important or wealthy they are. Mar 12:42-443  "And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. (43)  And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: (44)  For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living." May His glory and abundance be upon you, Peter.

This verse reminds me that when we put others first before ourselves we are honoring God.

This verse can be read as a warning or an encouragement depending whether you view yourself as the first or the last. Nevertheless, the promise is that if we deny ourselves, give up our possessions, and leave our family for Jesus' sake, we will be rewarded when Christ returns.
