Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

This is the story of the rich young ruler (for the sake of illustration I'm gonna call him Bill) asking Jesus what he must do to receive eternal life. I think Jesus must've known Bill was self righteous, trying to be good enough, but feeling like something was missing. That's why He told Bill to keep the commandments first, then, when Bill told Him that he'd done all that, Jesus cut to his heart, telling him to sell everything and give it to the poor. When given the choice of his money or surrendering to follow Christ, Bill chose his money. That made salvation impossible to him, because he wasn't willing to surrender to God’s will. He was hoping for another good deed he could do put another notch in his belt of self righteousness. Jesus was going after his God, and put His finger right on it. Jesus was doing the same with Bill as He did with all His followers: calling him to follow Him with undivided loyalty. Jesus said in Matt 6:24 that no one can serve two masters, he'll love one and hate the other. Jesus wasn't saying that rich people can't get to Heaven, but that riches can be a snare that causes us to hesitate following God completely cause we don't wanna give up our "stuff". If making money, or a name, become our primary goals that leaves no room for serving Christ, we may be a success by the world’s standards but a failure with God and won't have the rewards of the faithful. Jesus gave up all the riches and glory of Heaven to step down here, zip up a human suit, live a perfect life, die a horrible death on the cross as a sacrifice for our sin. Now He's back in Heaven preparing our mansions that will be a direct result of what we sacrificed down here for His sake. I believe we'll be surprised when we get there, first to see who is and isn't there, but also to see who gets what reward and who finds the wood, hay and stubble burned up in the fire that Paul talks about in 1 Cor 3. Jesus said in Matt 7: 21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Jesus said, "I AM the Way, the truth and the life, NO one comes to the Father except thru me. EVERYONE rich or poor must do the same thing to get to Heaven: 1. Admit you're a sinner and can't save yourself. 2. Realize God loves you and doesn't wanna punish you, but must punish your sin. 3. Realize that Jesus is the ultimate God-man, that died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins and rose from the dead to purchase a place for you in heaven, as a FREE gift. 4. Receive that FREE gift in faith. 5 repent and accept Jesus as their Saviour, Lord and forever friend. If you're reading this, and aren't 100% sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you're died today that you'll go to heaven, let me know, and I'll tell you how you how I know 100%, beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm going to heaven, and how you can too. Life is short and you're dead a LOOOOOOONG time. Don't gamble on eternity. Papa God, You said in Your Word that You wish that NONE would perish, but ALL would come to eternal life. You love us so much, and You don't wanna spend eternity without us. Please draw Your people to You, in Jesus name, Amen

There is great reward in following Jesus, but as for entering the Kingdom, this is only possible by placing our complete trust in his grace. Even our best efforts fall short of God's perfect standard. Jesus saves, and he rewards believers who faithfully follow him.

So many times we think we can do anything but it is never through our own strength. Sure for a while we can accomplish many things but our life after this earth....no, we cannot get there on our own. Only because of Jesus dying on the cross is this possible.

Amen, He is Almighty and so long as we obey His commands, NOTHING is impossible for us because His Holy Spirit live in and empowers us. On our own we can do nothing. Even the sinner outside Christ can do nothing on his own because God gives him life and without life, what can he do. An amazing God we serve. Hallelujah...!!!

This is MY verse. Of all the Word this verse is my special too against discouragement. to me, this verse means that God has the power to do all things. No matter what we live in our lives, no matter what, He has the power to intervene and give us what we need: justice, wisdom, even a miracle. If we live the Word, if we trust Him, everything`s going to be all right.

I saw this verse on a t-shirt today- I love it. As humans, we have limits- we can only do certain things. God can do anything- He can calm a storm in one mvt of the hand. When we saw something is impossible, we have forgotten God. He can do whatever h he wants- look to God for help and strength. Praise be to God!
