Here we see Jesus saying follow me, follow Him no matter what, Follow Jesus in the good times and in the bad times, following Jesus means accountability. We are accountable to God in everything we do, say or think. And we are accountable to each other. Hebrews 14: 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give Account.

Well expressed, brother Peter. You are so correct, that nothing escapes the seeing of our God. It is certainly an encouragement to walk in purity as best we can, and when we slip up, confess and repent. 1Jn 1:9  "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Praise Him, that He brings attention to my sins and gives me the opportunity to confess, and do my best to remember that He sees all and walk in righteousness. Enjoy the weekend, Peter, and let's remember to cover in prayer, those in the path of hurricane Florence. Saw a report that at least four have lost their lives already.

This verse means that we must die to our flesh and have a new life in Jesus. God sent his Son here to save us from our sins and have eternal life.

It has been more than 10 years I wear the cross, but during this time, I seldom though, why I wear the cross. Jesus said, take up their cross and follow him, which means we have denied ourselves. Deny and follow. During these years, did I do this as he said?

When Jesus said this to his disciples, I believe that he was saying that you need to live your life honoring and blessing our eternal treasures without worry, concern or fear. Too often we worry about what is happening here on earth, we spend time worrying what others think of us, we dislike our bodies, we hunger after earthly pleasures. To truly be a disciple of our Lord Jesus, we need to put all of this aside, and and live the word.

How many times have we done something and when looking back on the event said, "What was the purpose of that?" Denying ourselves could mean giving up things we enjoy as well what we should give up. However when we bear our cross and follow Jesus (the author and finisher of our faith), the reward will be worth it.
