Here we see Jesus saying follow me, follow Him no matter what, Follow Jesus in the good times and in the bad times, following Jesus means accountability. We are accountable to God in everything we do, say or think. And we are accountable to each other. Hebrews 14: 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. When Jesus said this to his disciples, I believe that he was saying that you need to live your life honoring and blessing our eternal treasures without worry, concern or fear. Too often we worry about what is happening here on earth, we spend time worrying what others think of us, we dislike our bodies, we hunger after earthly pleasures. To truly be a disciple of our Lord Jesus, we need to put all of this aside, and and live the word.

However when we bear our cross and follow Jesus (the author and finisher of our faith), the reward will be worth it.
