Matthew 1:24
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

Submitting to the will of God is not always easy. We don't always get direct confirmation like Joseph did. However submission is essential, even when we do not understand we still have to yield to the will of God. If God said it, that settles it!

Mostly everything that God tells us to do doesn't make sense. Joseph probably didn't understand how it was possible for Mary to be pregnant with the Son of God but he still chose to obey Gods command even though he didn't understand it. So next time God asks us to do something. We should obey Him, even if it doesn't make sense to us.

Joseph heard from God, knew what he had to do, and was obedient to the word that was spoken. His trust in God was firm, and resulted in decisive obedient action. Joseph trusted God with his life.

So often when I read the story of the birth of Jesus, i can't help but think of what Joseph must have been thinking. I am so glad that he chose to be faithful to God by listening to the angel and taking Mary home as his wife even though he must have been so confused. This verse says to me that even when you don't really understand what is going on, God does. He sees the whole picture from the very beginning and if we are just able to trust him and do what he commands without knowing what will happen next, we will allow great things to happen in our lives and the lives of others. God Bless!!

I love the heart of Joseph. He trusted and was faithful to the Holy Spirit, in spite of the circumstances. A pregnant wife, carrying a child that was not his. He heard the Spirit of God and had the strength and faith to trust and keep her as his wife. How often do we struggle at times with circumstances of our own? When the Holy Spirit tells us to move in a direction that seems out of our comfort zones, do we struggle with trusting what we've heard? Do we trust and move anyways? My desire is to have a heart like Josephs, and move in what ever direction the Holy Spirit calls... Always.

This verse means that I should obey God and lean not on your own understanding. When you give consideration to the times, Mary's age, and Joseph's stake in this matter, he was very brave.

Without hesitation of what others would think of HIM, Joseph did what he was told by God's angel, , and carried out what was told of him to do by God. Joseph did NOT come up with excuses, walk out, run away, cuss and carry on, go get drunk, he only did as he was told....like we ALL should.

I admire Joseph for recognizing that what he was being told was indeed from God. I also admire his immediate obedience. When I think the Lord is telling me to do something I usually mull over it a long time and second guess if it is really the Lord or my own desire. I am also a procrastinator and sometimes before I act the conviction and annointing is gone. I wish that like Joseph I can know with certainty when the Lord speaking to me and that I would be quick to obey.

Because the angel intervened Joseph decided not to divorce Mary. I loved Joseph's obedience and how he did what the angel of the Lord commanded him to do and took Mary home to be his wife
