because they all saw him and were terrified.

Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

Whenever we are in trouble and in danger God comes to us and we are immediately frightened. We don't know what to do. We don't know where to go. We don't know how to survive. We see Jesus and think "Is that really him? Am i seeing or hearing a ghost? Is it a demon trying to fool me?" Instead we hear God's call out to us ""Take Courage! It is I. Don't be Afraid"" and a rush of comfort flows over us.

Amen, Peter, and how easy it is to fall into that trap of fear, forgetting that God has our back. Help us Lord, to stand firm and increase our faith that You have us covered and protected. Amen. God bless you, Peter.

Sometimes, Jesus just takes my breath away with what He does and how fast! I love the fact that He spoke to the disciples "immediately". If I go to Him when I am afraid or the circumstances do not look good, He always will calm me... "immediately". I should not be surprised because He tells me He will do this ("Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." Mt 11:28). The problem is - that I need to develop "muscle memory" - to go to Him all the time! Not only when the circumstances are scary or unknown, but especially, when everything is going well and I am living an illusion that I can do anything in my own strength. Jesus, forgive me for not going to You more consistently. I repent of trying to be god in my life and ask only for Your Will - immediately - in everything, every day, to Your Glory. Thank you. Amen.

How can I remain focus in the midst of my storm? The scripture says "the disciples saw Him and he spoke to them." This reminds me that my focus should remain on Jesus and he will keep me in perfect peace if mind is stayed on thee.

Many have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but to truly give Him your heart, you need to have FAITH. I work daily to thank Him for everything He has given me and to have Total Faith in living the life that he has chosen for me.
