Jesus ministry on earth began in this chapter as the Spirit descended upon as a dove (v.10) and now He casts the foul spirit from the person (v.25-26) showing His authority, by which people were amazed. At Pentecost He gave us the same authority as shown at the end of this book of Mark: Mar 16:16-18 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. (17) And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; (18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well." If we walk in righteousness we have the same authority as Jesus, because He imparted it to believers who follow Him. Lord, help us as the body of Christ, to walk in righteousness that we may act in Your authority and bring about signs, wonders and miracles that the world will be amazed and believe. Amen
