This is an encouraging verse because I work with the Cubbies at AWANA. Each one of my little Cubbies represents Jesus.

I am reminded of John 1:12 as I read these words--"As many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God". We are reminded of the humility that our Savior always displayed, that Paul describes in Phil. 2:2-9.

It's important to remember to be humble and not think highly of yourself, but to be a servant to all and to be kind and generous to all of God's children. When we welcome people or do good unto them we are welcoming Jesus. Your status or position in life mean nothing to Jesus, only the condition of your heart and soul.
