Once again, a difficult chapter to choose a verse but in this verse it shows the provision of the Lord for those who are obedient to His decrees. We must remember that He is God, and He is truly in control of all things, so He can cause excess crops to be produced when He decrees it. When we follow Him, He will be our provider.

We also had to learn to trust God to provide for us when we first learned of the tithe. At first i was just tithing on the net. When i learned we were to tithe on the gross i was shocked, thinking i would never be able to pay my bills. But very soon after i started tithing on my gross, i was giving a promotion that made up for the difference. Now money is really tight but God is still providing for me. Trust and obey it is the only way to be happy in Jesus, just trust and obey.

If we are in obedience to God, and his requirements of us, he will not abandon us, nor cause us to suffer as a RESULT of that obedience.It takes Faith..a lot of Faith at times, to "step out" and trust that He will do as He promised. But that is the only way for our Faith to be strengthened. He will provide, providing we obey.

With obedience to God we can be so blessed. Their land producing enough in one year for three years. This is like saying today that He will give us three years income in one year. What a financial blessing. He may not plan to tripple my income this year but i certainly want to obey and serve Him to see what kind of blessing He does have in store for me.
