Last night i gave out 3 Gospels of John. One woman said she would be able to understand it. She went to John 1:5 and asked what it meant. I took her back to vs 1-4 and explained that Jesus was the light. Please pray with me that she would continue to try to keep reading and God would reveal himself to her. The Holy Spirit is analogous to the oil in the lamps. We see here that it is "PURE" oil ... not mixed with anything that is "natural" and that the lamps are to be kept burning continuously. The Holy Spirit is to work in our lives continuously.

It is a shawdow to me, of us follower's of Jesus to continually have the Holy Spirit involved in our every-part of earth life. We are not to fizzle out toward the end, rather stay diligent, and keep ourselves pure, by allowing the Holy Spirit to keep our consciences "Clear__vs referance" daily, and allow the Kingdom of Light we now reside in to be continually "burning" so all may see, and glorify God! the 'clear' (our lives are clear of sin and guilt),
oil (symbolic of the Holy Spirit)
Light (Jesus is the Light of the World, that brings men out of darkness)
We (individually and collectively) are the lamps that are to be kept burning *continually*.
