Leviticus 15:31
" 'You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean, so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place, which is among them.' "

I love that our glorious God is pure and hates unclean things. When one accepts Jesus Christ as Lord of ones life, your life is changed completely. You are now in Christ and He is in you. As He is pure so you will now be pure spiritually. Colossians 1:27. That is our hope.

Keeping the dwelling place clean and holy is very important, but in this day and age, this is saying a woman on her monthly cant attend church, I believe back then it was because they didnt have the pads and things of today to keep the blood from flowing everywhere or an understanding of discharge and what it means, with todays doctors and ways to prevent the spread of diease and unholy things , i dont believe it apply to this day and age. But can you image all the things you have to go to your priest about ? Interesting .

None of these discharges made a man or a woman sinful, only ceremonially unclean. This did promote hygiene in ancient Israel, yet discharges of semen and menstruation were so regarded, not because there was anything inherently wrong with them, but because the two are connected with symbols of life and redemption, blood and seed.

Thank you for your grace Jesus. For if it were up to us, we would all be condemned. Thank you so much for your love for us on the cross. Please help me to remember how much you love me and willing to suffer for me and for the world during this Good Friday season and everyday of my life.

In short, the blood of Jesus is the only soap that can wash away our, "uncleanliness"!!!!
Just as the Israelites were instructed to stay away from things that made them physically "unclean" the believer in Jesus Christ should stay away from spiritual sin; which is the new testament's version of being "unclean". Just as being unclean physically before the Lord was a sin, so is being filled with hatred and other issues of the heart...as believers in Christ we are forgiven for these matters of being "unclean", once we recognize and repent of the, "unclean" heart issues....if we do not continue to recognize the sin in our lives and believe that we have made it to some level of maturity where we no longer sin, our fellowship and walk with Christ begins to die!!!

I cannot imagine having to live in a time when all of these requirements were applied and they didn't even have such a thing as a washing machine but would have had to scrub everything by hand. Thank You Jesus.

God is holy so therefore His dwelling place must be holy. Today His dwelling place is inside of us in the Holy Spirit and we must daily repent of our sins to keep His dwelling place holy.
