Judges 6:15
"Pardon me, my lord," Gideon replied, "but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."

For when I am weak, then I am strong." --2 Corinthians 12:9-10 2. "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." --Isaiah 40:31... Jesus had to be dead to conquer death, which was His greatest victory. This can be difficult to grasp as it goes against most of what we depend on for survival. Even young children seem to have a competitive nature. Survival of the fittest, right?! We must be very careful! Who's glory do we seek? If we strive to be the best for our own glory or pride, then we become our own idles, our own god. Ouch! If we do our best for Him, out of our love and desire to please Him, not for our salvation, but simply out of love, we glorify Him.

Here we see in this chapter Gideon's Fight For Faith: The weakness of Gideon faith, and where his weakness turns to strength. We see a miraculous way that God used a weakest man in his family in the weakest clan to strike down the Midianites. Our faith is strengthened by God's faithfulness to us and to all the generations who came before us. Our faith is strengthened by studying His word and clinging to His faithfulness.

Amen, brother Peter. The patience and grace of the Lord is outstanding. Even after they had turned their backs on the ways of the Lord, His love and grace toward them was outstanding. How I would like to have His patience in my walk through life, and dealing with fellow humans. Enjoy a blessed Lord's day, my brother in Christ, as we worship and seek after Him. :-)

Actually Gideon is the perfect candidate for God's man. He is humble, weak, and considers himself a nobody. God's answer says it all. "I will be with you!" God loves taking nobodies like you and me, filling us with His Spirit and using us to do great things for Him!

You are so right, we think we cannot do anything substantial but God knows the potential we have not in our strength but in his. Take care,

I have said something like this to the Lord many times. God has showed me that it is not about me. It is about who is with me. One of my favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 1:27 "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." If you want prove that God is with you, go out and share your faith. God is awesome.

Great thought, Nancy. Like the talents. It's not how much God gives us, it's about what we do with it.

That's great nancy, I completely agree. I also thought about that verse that says 2 Corinthians 13:9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
