Even though the Israelites do evil, once they repent and call out to the Lord, he delivers them. Over and over again. He is a just God but a loving God who helps when one repents.

The Lord sends a deliver to Israel when they cry out. But when that one dies they return to their sinful life. God sent us a savior, his only Son, but the world returns to the sinful ways of life.

LORD, You are so compassionate and forgiving, faithful to the end. Even when we are sinful, unfaithful and deserve death, you still love us and watch over us. You are ready to forgive us when we cry out to You. O heavenly Father, my loving God, I praise you with all my heart. It amazes me, the patience and forgiveness of the Lord, when the Israelites had gone against God so many times, and yet, when they cried out to Him, He provided a deliverer. Today, we have Jesus, who, when asked how many times we should forgive said 70 times seven. In other words, forgive again and again, which He does for us if we will but confess to Him and do our best (which is never perfect) He will forgive and cleans us. (1John 1:9) Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your patience with us (me) and I ask that You help us (me) to follow Your commands more closely each day until we meet You face-to-face in the glory of heaven.
