John 3:8
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

In God's glorious wisdom he sends his spirit at the perfect time. I will never forget the day he sent the Holy Spirit to me, I floated on cloud nine for at least a year, as he ministered his wisdom and grace into my life. It was revelation upon revelation of his word daily. I remember running to the mirror to look at myself because I knew I had to look different because after all everything inside of me felt so different! That was 1/11/1995 I grew more in that 1st few years than I have in all the years combined following that time. And though he knew I would fall away from his teaching he still blessed me with the amazing knowledge of his love and grace and filling of his Spirit, and I am now trying to turn my life back to him and am so thankful for this stepping stone to help me on my way. This verse so touched me the 1st time I read it because that day in 1995 was not the day that I asked Jesus into my life but it was the day that his wind blew where he willed it and thank you my Heavenly Father for choosing me to be your child and forgive me for all of the wasted time I have spent trying to make it on my own, I pray you would lead me and guide me onto that perfect path you have created me to be on to fulfill that which you created me to do! In Jesus precious name, amen

This is so beautiful Terri, just as a baby learns the most the first year of his life so did you the first year of your spiritual life. i love how you ran to the mirror to see the change in yourself. I can surly remember that same feeling myself. And yes isn’t great to know that God is holding onto us instead of us holding onto God just like a child holding tight onto Daddy, when in actuality Daddy is holding onto the child. Don’t focus on the wasted time as God will restore to you the years the locust have eaten. (Joel 2:25). Thank you so much for sharing this story. It blessed me tremendously.

Yes Terri. I, too, did the same thing. God gloriously filled me with His spirit, then I bought into the serpents lie that God was holding out on me. It was a rough road and when I got to the end, I was hanging off the cliff, but I wasn't the one holding on. It was God holding me. There's something about that "gift" of desperation that brought me to a place of the "prodigal", where I KNOW in my knower that no matter what, it ain't out there. If God doesn't give it to me, I don't need it, cuz He has something better for me. I gave Him the leash, cuz I know my wicked little heart can be mislead too easily. I told Him that no matter what, I don't want it back. if I get the least bit outta His will, to yank my leash. Yes there's a LOT of painful memories to be healed from my "prodigal walk in the wilderness", but God doesn't waist anything. He will use my scars to help others. I just hafta stay outta shame and self pity and trust Him. Welcome to our forum. This is a safe place to come and say whatever. You'll never be judged and we don't count off for spelling or grammar.

We cannot see the wind but we can feel it and see its effect. Likewise we cannot see when we are born again but we know when we are and we can see the Spirits effect in our lives. So can others. Amen.
