John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

When I boil down all of my actions in my life, my goal has been to have peace. I just did not understand what true peace was and it's origin.
I have tried to get peace from other people's positive opinions of me, promotions, making a lot of money, looking good, having an advanced degree, being physically strong, etc. Somehow, I have thought that is security, which gives me peace. Not true!
The really futile activity, is trying to control everything. Talk about a waste of time! Jesus' Peace passes all understanding. His Peace sticks because it is Him in me! Why would I ever want anything else? Jesus forgive me. I repent of looking for peace anywhere else but You.
What a blessing that is when I have Your Peace! My eyes need to stay fixed solidly on Jesus Christ! Come, Holy Spirit!

This is especially comforting to me today as I remember my nephew who died six years ago.
Thank you Lord, for your peace which the world can neither give nor take away.

Perfect peace it sounds good ,who wouldn't want to have peace? Jesus is telling us that if we don't let our hearts be troubled and don't be afraid to just trust Him for everything then He will give us His perfect peace. Release your fears and worries to God they are useless and unfruitful works. Jesus died to give us peace and joy and a full life. Total peace and joy sound much better than fear ,worry, and stress.
