Jeremiah 41:8
But ten of them said to Ishmael, "Don't kill us! We have wheat and barley, olive oil and honey, hidden in a field." So he let them alone and did not kill them with the others.

You can't bribe death, we can never be secure in this world with earthly treasures. We can never be assured of Peace on this side of Heaven. Our Treasures our stored up in Heaven.

Once again what I'm about to write has nothing to do with this verse per se but what the ten men reminded me of, the inequality between the rich and the poor when man's justice is handed out in this world. On far too many occasions men guilty of murder have escaped man's justice because they could afford high power lawyers and had the money to buy off witnesses. On other occasions innocent men have gone to prison because they were poor and couldn't afford a good lawyer. I have known men that were a menace to society and belonged in prison but were free to kill again because they had money. I've also known men in prison who were actually innocent of the crime and were there because they were poor and hadn't been able to mount a good defense.

Sad circumstances, Jerry. Too bad there's so much that depends the money people have or don't have whether or not they get proper justice or not. Haven't been able to post again myself today. God bless.

Yes, Jerry and Lloyd, the love of money is the root of all evil. You can trace almost any hurt back to greed in some form or another

But just to remember, it is not money but the "LOVE" of money that is the root of all evil and not money itself. Many have preached that poor is holy which is false. Money can accomplish great things in the proper perspective. BUT when it becomes our god then it is disastrous. God bless

Thank you, Brother Lloyd, I should have put that in my comment. Money is not the evil, it's the love of money and the power it brings those that have it is what is evil. Have a blessed day.

Money talks and has power, in the sense money causes evil to prevail.
