Believers in the Lord Christ Jesus are ambassadors for Him here on earth and, as such, we need to serve. "Faith without deeds is dead" and we should not be dead.

James 2: 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Ah yes, the old faith and works debate. I can see Paul and James all over You Tube debating on this issue. But, if you've received the free gift of eternal life and nothing about your life had changed, I have serious doubts about your conversion experience. You're gonna want to please Your Heavenly Father and the works you do are out of gratitude not to gain entry into Heaven. Before I received the gift of eternal life, I was standing in my kitchen getting ready to take my life, and a little voice in my head said, "wait one more day". I figured one day wouldn't make any difference. The next day, a Co worker invited me to lunch and told me he'd received the gift of eternal life invited me to church. That night, I prayed and repented of my sin and asked Jesus to come into my heart to be my Lord, Saviour and forever friend. Do you think one day could make a difference? It sure did with me! When I did that, I was like a beggar reaching out her hand for a gift from a king. I didn't deserve it then, and I don't deserve it now, but I know I have it because the bible says so. I immediately felt the weight of all my sin lifted. The problem was that the church I made that commitment in believes you can lose your salvation if you participate in certain sins. I struggled with certain sins and eventually walked away because I believed that I could never be good enough. Finally, I ended up hanging of the edge of a cliff and I wasn't the one hanging on. But thru all of that, God showed me that just because we fail Him doesn't mean He's disowned us. I learned that when we give our heart to God, He doesn't give it back. He allows us to end up like the Prodigal son in our stinky pig pen and we have no place to go but to Him. When we get to that spot, we say what Peter said in John 6, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God." We've learned that the world has NOTHING to offer us and if God doesn't give it to us, we don't need it. I also learned that God would rather have a child who's stumbling and falling down than no child at all. I believe that teaching that you can lose your salvation is tantamount to telling your child that if he doesn't tow the line, you'll disown him which is child abuse. Jesus said in Matt 7 and Luke 11, if you being evil know how to give good gifts to your child, how much more will the Father give good gifts to us. If you wouldn't do that to your kid, why would our Heavenly Father do that to us? Thank You Papa God for Your awesome gift of eternal life and for NEVER giving up in us.

This chapter shows us how we need both faith and action, not just faith, or, just actions but both faith and actions. V. 24 (You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.) shows us this and it is verified in Ephesians as well: (Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.) I personally look for opportunities to introduce someone to Jesus. I had a couple of opportunities in the last week, to witness to a couple of people whom I've had to see on a regular basis for a time. I asked them if they know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The responses were rather guarded, so I know they had never made the decision but they have been quite open with me since. I gave out the PTL Gospel booklet as well as a document I've made up with salvation Scriptures on it, basically the "Romans Road to Salvation". Here's a good site with some of the Scriptures I use in mine ( http://www.teenmissions.org/resources/roman-road-to-salvation/ ) with some suggestions for action, like praying daily, attending a Bible preaching church, and telling another believer you've made the decision for Christ. It's past time for the church (body of Christ) to come alive and stand up and be counted. God bless you all.

This verse tells me that it is ok to have Faith. However, Faith alone will not work, it must be activated in order to be beneficial. Lord, please increase my Faith and help me to put positive actions with it as I trust in You. Thank You Lord!

My faith is strong but I recognize the need to to put my faith into action more. Faith alone does not make me righteous. Faith + action (works, deeds done with love) is required to show that I truly love God. We then become men and women after God's own heart who walk with God.
