Genesis 40:8
"We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them."Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."

Important statement here, "Do not interpretations belong to God?" This shows that only God knows the interpretation and to whom He chooses to grant the interpretation, and again, only God can deliver the revelation of the dream to the person whom He chooses to deliver the interpretation. 2Pet 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being of its own private interpretation. (21) For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.

Key words here "Do not interpretations belong to God? with everything that has happened to Joseph,
again while falsely thrown into prison for a crime he never committed, the first thing Joseph did without hesitation gave GLORY to God. "Do Not All Interpretations Belong To God." A day is coming when all the wrongs in this world will be made right.

Only God knows the true meaning of dreams. He can use people such as Joseph to speak the interpretations he gives them.

This scripture, I am receiving the implication of relationship...more so Joseph's recognition of His relationship with God. When he says "do not interpretations belong to God" and then immediately follows up with "tell me your dreams"...this shows that Joseph knows the power of God, but also the authority given to him to use that power. What an awesome forecasting of what is to come. Also, what resonates with me is how Joseph did attempt to use this power to "escape" this prison. Though he asked the cupbearer to remember him, he forgot him. This says to me that God was still "perfecting" Joseph in meekness or what I like to call "power under control". Though I can see some growth in Joseph since the last time he interpreted and openly shared his dream...he still needed more growth. Praise God for His grace and mercy, because He knew that Joseph was indeed about to inherit the earth (the meek shall inherit the earth- Matt. 5:5); therefore he caused the cupbearer to forget, for it was not yet Joseph's time to be exalted. Thank you Father for your continued mercy, grace, guidance, protection, and perfect timing. Thank you for our relationship together made possible by and through the blood of Christ my Lord. Father please continue to perfect me that I will manifest Your glory as You have created and empowered me to do. In the name of Jesus Christ and for His name sake I come to You. Amen.

To me this verse means that dreams can be a form of communication from god.
