This chapter is not my favorite part of the bible. i am reading this and it is making me sick. Then when i get to vs 45 "Then I will dwell amoung the Israelites and be their God." i think, wow, all this has to happen for God to dwell among us, but this is nothing compared to what Jesus did for us. Dear Lord, please don't ever let me take for granted the price that was paid for you to dwell among me and be my God who brought me out of the dark world into your light.

Michael E. from Burbank, CA said:
God set out a very specific list of things for the Israelites to do. If the people followed the instructions, God promised to dwell with them and be their God. As now, God promises us eternal life with Him, but we must also follow His instructions by accepting Jesus as our substitute sacrifice for our sins.

As God was the pillar going before the Israelites bringing them out of thr wilderness He will continue to live among them. Teaching the Isarlites in the ways of God that He would remain always as their guide. God knew already that the Isralites would turn from his teachings and once again follow the false gods and idols. He chose to stay in an attempt to prevent this very thing.
