Ecclesiastes 4:13
Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning.

Wisdom is worth more than financial status, power or position. It is sad to physically age and not possess wisdom or love. It is truly better to listen, to discern and to accept counsel rather than to toss it aside. Can you discern? Do you hear? Can you accept and apply counsel?

Sounds like Solomon is talking about himself here. He was so wise, yet because he allowed all those foreign wives to lead him away from God and became foolish. I did the same thing. I allowed myself to be lead away from God by marrying an unbeliever. I did a lot of very foolish things that I'm not proud of. It's way easier to be brought down than to bring someone else up. Papa God, thank You for proving I'm the rule and not the exception.
