Ecclesiastes 4:13
Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to heed a warning.

Wisdom is worth more than financial status, power or position. It is sad to physically age and not possess wisdom or love. It is truly better to listen, to discern and to accept counsel rather than to toss it aside. Can you discern? Do you hear? Can you accept and apply counsel?

Sounds like Solomon is talking about himself here. He was so wise, yet because he allowed all those foreign wives to lead him away from God and became foolish. I did the same thing. I allowed myself to be lead away from God by marrying an unbeliever. I did a lot of very foolish things that I'm not proud of. It's way easier to be brought down than to bring someone else up. Papa God, thank You for proving I'm the rule and not the exception.

I guess God lets us fall right on our faces sometimes to show us and teach us that we are nothing without Him! I was pretty much raised in church, and even when I got married I was in church "to an extent". He came with me, but I putting him before God, for a long time I was in and out of church. I call myself "When I need Him, I know He's here" Christian. I came to realize the hard way, a very bad situation hard way, that I am a "I NEED HIM EVERYDAY" Christian now. I rededicated my life back to God, I have went to church because I WANT to and not just because I NEED Him to solve my problems, He has blessed me so much when he had me realize this. He has given me much more than I could ever want! He has given me "ME" back, a great ministry for Him, REAL happiness, and I feel like I matter again! Thank you Lord Jesus for never giving up on me! I thank Him for His love and patients with me and never once treated me like I treated Him in the past! Even though I have lost family members along the way, I pray for them and I know one day that they will come back to Him too because they all had a calling on their lives for Him in one way or the other to work for Him with the talents He gave to them as well! Like I have said before, you can run, but you can not hide from God! The Hounds of Heaven will get them soon I am praying!! AMEN! THANK YOU JESUS!

Yes, Mary, if we make Him a "Fox hole prayer" God, don't be surprised when you end up in a fox hole. If we call on Him only in times of trouble, don't be surprised when He allows us to get in deep doo doo.
