Through this passage, Paul obviously realizes his earthly life will soon end but he stands firm in his faith that the Lord's reward will bless him as he enters the Lord's presence. Likewise, all who persevere in their faith and works as he has, will also receive their just reward. Lord, help us all who believe, to persevere in following Your truths, regardless of the consequences in this life. Amen

God will reward me and all of us according to how we have obeyed Him. All He has asked us to do is read His word and honor it. He knows that we are not perfect, but as long as we are striving for perfection and trusting Him, we will be rewarded by Him in the end.

The Lord is the "Righteous Judge" - therefore, His discerment and distribution of rewards is without prejudice. That Paul would receive such a crown is easy for us to imagine - that any of us should is often cause for doubt. But do you long for His appearing? Then, the "Crown of Righteousness" is a reward that He will deliver to you. And it is a crown we may cast at His blessed feet, as the Only Worthy One.
