2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:3-4 & 9 Verse 3 tells us that we must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. But verse 9 tells us that The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Because Jesus hasn't come back yet like He promised sooner believe that He's just not bothering to do so...He just left us down here to fend for ourselves...but that's a lie from there pit of hell, because He promised in 3Genesis 50:21 that He will never leave or forsake us. Jesus said that He must go because He will send the comforter, the Holy Spirit. When we receive the free gift of eternal life, that same Holy Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead comes to live inside us with all the resurrection power...it's more powerful than the space shuttle. So, we're not to grow weary in our walk with Jesus. We need to remember that as James says life is but a vapor...like a brief sigh...then we're gone...hopefully to spend eternity with Jesus. But we'll only do that if we've admitted we're a sinner and can't save ourself, and transferred all our trust from being a good person to what Jesus did for us on the cross...paying all our debt in full, then raising from the dead to purchase a place for us in heaven. Accepting that as our ONLY reason we're going to spend forever with Him. Thank You Jesus for Your indescribable gift. I don't know why You chose me, but I'm sure glad You did, and im forever grateful.

This verse reminds me of the extended patience of the Lord. If it were me, my patience would have run out long ago but our "PATIENT" Lord gives everyone an extende period of time to realize their need of Him. As is stated here in Peter's letter, the Lord desires that NONE should perish but that they would realize their need of Him, and come to repentance. Lord, stir the hearts of those who do not yet know Your love for them and inspire them to humble themselves, confess and repent, that they may receive Your saving grace, and enjoy eternal life in Your presence. Amen

Praise God for His patients, as He is giving people more time to repent. Peter is showing us Gods heart, a heart for the people He created, He wants them all to be saved but He won't force them all to be saved. Yes He is a God of patience, and yes a God of many chances. Blessings on you my brother in Christ, as we stand firmly in the promises of His word.

I thank God for His patience. I still have some family members who need to come into the saving knowledge of Christ, "saving knowledge" being the operative words here. They know who Jesus is but have not yet believed and accepted Him as Lord and Savior. Not only do I thank God for His patience, but also for His grace that continues to keep them inspite of their unbelief. However, I know that prayer changes things, and in time, I believe they will be saved.
