2 Kings 3:14
Elisha said, "As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you.
Ken J. from Nakusp, BC said:
Elisha's trust in God is encouraging as he knows that only our Lord God can solve the problem and give them victory as was the case here. We need to have Faith in God and believe in Jesus during our daily walk if we are to be saved from our sins and live.

Through these stories, Jehoshaphat remains the most in line with God's will, though not entirely.

Here we see in this verse God is not endorsing this alliance, He was helping Jehoshophat in spite of it. Had Jehoshophat went to the Lord on his own behalf he wouldn't have been in this situation. If we as Christians seek the Lord daily we will be better off.

I like this verse because it shows Elisha didn't want anything to do with these kings, but out of respect for a past king, he went along with it.
