After all that Joash attempted to do in a righteous manner to have the temple restored, those who obviously were greedy and selfish, and had Joash killed. It seems unimaginable the brutality that went on at that time between nations and cities but if we look at today, there is little difference. I read today that in Nigeria since 2015, there have been 6000 Christians killed for their faith and many burned in their houses, because they were Christians. Humanity really never changes, especially when Satan gets his demons working through false religions. Psalm 91 is a great Scripture to refresh our faith, and a great one to read daily. Lord, guard Your faith family as we walk through this perilous life, while waiting for the return of our Savior and King, Jesus. Amen

After rereading this chapter, I find that I misread it, and finding that Joash was not righteous at all. Try to be more careful next chapter....been an active, tiring day.

Greed and selfishness played a big part in this chapter. It amazes me how many kings in these two chapters lost their lives for being corrupt and listening to bad advice. You got that right about humanity, humanity will never change, nothing will change until Christs return. Same with me Lloyd sometimes takes me a couple of times to read chapter.
