God used other countries to chastise Judah, but when Israel defeated Judah and acted as the heathen countries--taking slaves and plunder God' s anger was fierce against Israel. God held the same covenant with the divided kingdom--Israel went too far in dealing so harshly with their brethren. This in fact was dishonouring to God.
A reminder that we must treat other members of the church with special consideration and care as they also are honoured and precious in His sight.

Oded was a very brave prophet to go before these leaders and confront them with the truth. And it's even more amazing that their conscience was tender for this crime and they recognized their own sin and guilt. against their fellow tribes and they not only heeded his advice, but they cared for the captives from the spoil by feeding, clothing and restoring them and sent them back to Judah. Praise God for people like Oded that will stand up and tell the truth regardless of the consequences. Papa God, continue to walk me out of my fear of man that I'll speak YOUR truth no matter the consequence. But also give me confirmation that's is YOU speaking and not my emotions. And may I say it in love EXACTLY how YOU would have me say it.
