1 Samuel 19:23
So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even on him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth.

Saul's heart was set on killing David simply because of an evil spirit within him. Neither of these reasons are enough to keep the Holy Spirit from doing a great work within him. God can do a great work in our lives, whether we allow Him to or not. I believe He will do greater things yet, though, if we are willing servants.

This is an interesting chapter of how the Spirit of God came upon Saul's men and Saul himself to act like prophets that made them incapable to carry out their evil act of killing David. This was not the normal way the Spirit of God works, this time it saved the life of His servant David.

Saul set out with ill intentions and the spirit of God came over him and changed him. The power of God is so awesome!

This verse showed how powerful the Spirit of God is. Saul was filled with an evil spirit and was determined to kill David. He went to Naioth where David and Samuel were. But when he was there, the Spirit of God came upon him and he could not do anything but prophesy. God will go out of His way or even perform miraculous signs if necessary to rescue us. God will rescue his children, all we have to do is trust and never lose faith in him.

This hard to understand why the Spirit of God caused even David's enemies (Saul and his men) to begin prophesying and why Saul stripped off his clothes. I guess this prevented them all from harming David (and Samuel) when they arrived. Kind of a funny way of doing it. His ways are not our ways.
