1 Samuel 14:6
Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, "Come, let's go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised men. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few."

Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Here we see Jonathon gaining from the Lord. Nothing can hinder God if you trust him. The God of Jonathon, our God is with us and He is Mighty to save. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you, He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke(us) you, but will rejoice over you with singing.

Amen to tthat Peter. Jonathan most obviously put his faith in the Lord to make such a bold move to openly enter the Philistine's camp and attack them. His faith in the Lord gave him the victory. A great example for us to follow, as we surely need the favor of the Lord in these troubling days in the earth. Lord, help us to pay attention to You and Your direction for us as Jonathan did. Amen. Blessings once again Peter, as we again enter the end of another week. :-)

While everyone else was afraid, Jonathan and his armor-bearer trusted God. They knew that God was bigger than the Philistine army. God honored the faith of two godly men and caused a great victory over the enemy. God is never intimidated by the size of the enemy or bigness of a situation. With Him there is always enough resources to win any battle. Lord give me the faith of Jonathan!

Amen, Terry. Lord, give us all the faith of Jonathan, for the trying times ahead. God bless you Terry.

Johnathan put his faith in The Lord and boldly stepped out and did something. He was satisfied that God knew the entire plan. He knew that God could accomplish his plan through him not that he was accomplishing Gods plan. So many of us get wrapped up in what the purpose or end result may be and have to know what God is doing every second. Instead of just trusting in his plan we make our own after our own heart like Saul did when we should just be living step by step with faith in God.

Amen! Live one day at a time. Just live in the day your in because worrying about tomorrow only brings in more doubt and troubles, and we are not even through this day yet, and we worry about tomorrow? I stopped doing this because it only made me feel more anxiety and frustrated with my life!

Yes, ladies, I don't know where Jonathan got his integrity and honor from, but it certainly didn't come from his dad.

Even though God did move in their favor, many people try to go ahead of God and do their own planning and then say "God will help me" but we don't truly seek God first. We want to do our own thing and keep God in our plans instead of doing His will and keeping our minds and hearts focused on His Plan.

True in one sense, Taisha but remember, Jonathan did in one way seek a sign from the Lord that it was ok to proceed when he said "if they invite us to come up, then we will know the Lord is with us". And Jonathan did know that his father did not always act as the Lord would have him to do. I have always admired Jonathan for standing for what was right, as we will see when David comes into the picture. He favored David when his father desired to kill him. God bless.
