1 Chronicles 6:49
But Aaron and his descendants were the ones who presented offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense in connection with all that was done in the Most Holy Place, making atonement for Israel, in accordance with all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

The establishment of the sons of Levi as High Priests to serve in the Temple to offer sacrifices, is a foreshadow of Christ being Our High Priest. The New Covenant in Jesus Christ, are those being saved in Christ today are being called to be Priests to Reign with Christ as The High Priest who is coming to His Temple. The modern day chosen people Under The New Covenant. Revelation 5:10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.

Very well expressed Peter. I found this a very difficult chapter to get much out of, except how the towns and lands were divided. Blessings Peter, as we begin another week of waiting on Him, and praying for Him to act in our nations. :-) PS: It is amazing how our services are going via the web Peter. We had 54 computers tied in this morning, which would mean nearly twice that many people and still others listening by phone.

This verse reminds me of how easy we have it today, and yet so many don't bother. We don't have to do all the work of finding a perfect animal without flaw, killing the animal and preparing it for sacrifice on the alter. All we have to do is confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. (Romans 10:9) Yes we need to repent of our sins too but we don't have to go to the bother of the ritualistic things Jesus is our sacrifice. Thank You Jesus.

I hear what you are saying. However we need to put our hearts and our lives on the alter every day. This is what the Lord is teaching me, that my life is hidden in Christ. And it is not easy to submit or surrender to God. Our old man gets in there and wants to get the credit. "Look at what I have done." We need to be yielded or submitted to God's will.

What a honorable way of serving the blessed Lord. The descendants of Aaron alone was able to give offerings to the Lord in order to make atonement for the people of Israel as the Lord commanded. But, praise the Lord, we, as His children, are now able to come boldly into the very presence of God to worship and adore Him, forever. Amen.
