1 Chronicles 29:10
David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

"Praise be to you, Lord,
the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key words David praising the Lord: "Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel." This is the first time that God was addressed directly as Father over His people. Reminds me of Jesus teaching His disciples to pray, with the beginning phrase Our Father (Matthew 6: 9)

Amen Peter. David was a great king and he obviously, as we see in this chapter, had great influence upon his people. He was not a "watch me" sort of king but humbled himself before the Lord and set a great example for his people. Too bad we don't have more national leaders around the world like king David. I know we could use one here at this point. Blessings Peter, as we watch another week disappear. :-)
