All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king.

David surely had plenty of support, who wanted him to be king of Israel. As I tally them together, I believe there were 340,800 in total. It surely appears that God had influenced all these men to support David, as He knew, and had chosen David to be king of Israel. David had proven himself to be humble before God.

He can make us quick and active too, so that we shall be ready in season and out of season to defend the gospel. Lord let me be armed and ready to give my all to You in whatever service a You have me in.

This verse reminds me that we should be fighting for the Lord. Volunteering our time to build up the kingdom of God and His army. We should be of one mind toward God to make Jesus the King over all mankind.

I notice in this chapter that all the men who decided to support David, over 300,000 of them were in total support of David to be king over Israel. But we must remember who chose David to be king. It was God, so I believe it was God who influenced all these warriors to be supported of David. It shows me that when God has something in mind, He has the ability to accomplish it, regardless of what man thinks. Help us, Lord to be part of Your plan for this world. Help us to do what You desire to accomplish the establishment of Your kingdom here on earth. Lord we all ahve family, friends or acquaintances here that do not know the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord of their lives. Help us Lord to be in unity of purpose to accomplish what You desire. Amen.
