1 Kings 15:11
Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done.

This just reminds me this something we all must do. What is right in the eyes of the Lord. We don't have to do like our spouse, family members or friends. I know this first hand because I'm dealing with it right now. My family and friends no longer chat with me b/c of my connection and love for Christ. So I'm just like Asa, do what is right in the eyes of the Lord, It can be devastating to loose contact with them b/c of this but when you know what is right, you must do what is right. My point is when things do go from bad to worse as it was for me when I lost friends and family and it does not seem like there is an end in sight, out of "nowhere" God can send us an "Asa" to show that there is some hope when things seem hopeless.

1 Kings 11:9
The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
It is stating the Lord became angry with Solomon, One may be wondering if God is Everything, well does He has feeling of anger, You see we can't look at in the physical realms as you and I. IN other words, don't look at it from an emotion point of view. God is Everything. It is basically being brought to us through the eyes of Solomon in the sense the God is Angry. The way is is being presented for us to understand is to understand it from the sense of what Solomon is going through. How things are going in Solomon life. It reminds me of when we tend to get out of line with God and His will for our lives. We will definitely let us know, for He will get our attention, If we continue to look at the direction we are going. If it is indeed out of line with God, we will began to see it in our lives. This is an awesome chapter to read and keep us in check of how we are living our lives.

1 Kings 2:44
The king also said to Shimei, "You know in your heart all the wrong you did to my father David. Now the Lord will repay you for your wrongdoing.
R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
Self Explanatory......Shimei is being reminded of the things he has done wrong. The Lord will repay him for his wrongdoing. This should be a lesson to each of us. When we are reminded of the things we have done wrong, our shortcomings and imperfections. Hopefully, all will come to know there is a price to pay when doing wrong, One day we all have to stand before the Lord, Blessings!!!

2 Samuel 22:2
He said:

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
The Lord is my Rock (unshakeable, unmovable and will always be there). My Fortress (my protector/protection). My Deliverer (one who delivers me). So David is basically giving Honor and Praise to the One who so deserves it. David is basically not thinking about himself so much as he is busy Thanking God for All He Has Done For Him. Therefore, David is giving praise to the Most Unshakeable, Unmovable and the One who will Always be there for us. The One who is Always there to Protect Us and who will be there with us through the good and the bad. The One who delivered David from his enemies.

2 Samuel 15:15
The king's officials answered him, "Your servants are ready to do whatever our lord the king chooses."

R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
It is showing that the people were willing to follow David. It shows the people was willing to risk their own lives. They were willing to stand with David for what is right even if it cost them their lives. This also showed that the had faith in David but most of all God. Here again, they were ready to go with David wherever and be with David and His Lord. The question is how many of us are willing to stand up for what is right, take risk even if it will cost us our lives?

I believe, RC, that the time is coming, when believers in Christ may very well have to stand in our faith for Christ, even with the threat of death close at hand. God bless and preserve you.

1 Samuel 27:1
But David thought to himself, "One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me anywhere in Israel, and I will slip out of his hand."

My thoughts after reading this verse is that. We tend to take matters in our own hands. The thing we must understand that we can't do anything in our own or in our own strength. It is only through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. As it is stated, when I'm weak....He is Strong. David was actually showing us his weakness, his insecurity in God's Abilities. He began to show us his lack of faith. When we think we can escape the problem we somehow tend to find ourselves deeper in it. The Ultimate thing to do is turn the Omnipotent One, Every Lasting One. Always Remember that His Hand Prints are All Over Our Lives. So He Knows Exactly What We Are Going Through/Facing every minute of Our Lives. We must continue to Have Belief, Faith and Trust in Him who can Sustain Us/Our Load.....

It is amazing RC, how we can so easily, as did David, to forget the heavenly hand that protects us, and turn to our own ways. God bless

Zephaniah 2:3
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord 's anger.
R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
Look for the LORD, everyone in the country of Judah that is *humble. Try to do what is very, very good. Look for what makes you*humble. Perhaps the LORD will hide you when he is very angry. We need to get ourselves together on an individual basis and as a whole. We as a town, city, state, country, nation need to humble ourselves. Need to do what Christ has commanded us to do. If you do this you will be brought to Safety on the day of the Lord's anger.

Psalms 93:1
The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.

R C. from Natchez, MS said:
The LORD is King! He is ruling with authority. The LORD is ruling with great power. Also, the world will not change. Nobody will move it any more. The LORD is ruling. He wears his authority and his power as clothes. So everyone can see them and know who is in authority. Nobody can take this power and authority away from God. LORD is a special name for God. It means that he will always be alive. He will always make his people safe. They are the people that love and work for him. The LORD Rules and Super Rules all the Earth and all that dwells within. O'Magnify Him!!!

Psalms 78:18
They willfully put God to the test
by demanding the food they craved.
R C.
R C. from Natchez, MS said:
God saved them. Then They test God by stating what they didn't think He could do. So they demanded food from God because they thought He couldn't provide them food. But I must say it is not good to test God. It wasn't that they didn't believe their was a God but they didn't "trust" him. That's what happens when we don't trust someone, we tend to lose confidence, belief and faith. Therefore, we tend to put that individual to a test. I mean just to see what that individual is made of because of our thoughts of thinking the individual cannot accomplish. Sadly but true. I will advise All never to test God and His abilities. Remember, He is Almighty and Powerful. He created Everything and Everyone.

Thanks Rhonda, good reminder, not to put God to the test. And why should we, He has proved Himself many times.
