We are commanded to praise with everything we have and are. Sometimes this is a sacrifice as our "circumstances" of life get in the way. When we praise God with every thought and every breath our world comes into focus and we give glory to the only One worthy of honor. He alone is mighty, He alone is great.

Amen Laura. I think in order for us to give ourselves fully over to God is the answer to allow this command to go through. Christ on the cross is a great depiction of this. And we, I must do and say as Christ Jesus did and said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." and He breathed His last. Yep, I think we must die daily, and I know me, I must die to myself quite often everyday. It is only then that I can get out of the way so the Spirit can do His job, uninterrupted, which is to completely obey the command of God. Praise God. Praise God. He is giving me the picture of Genesis, chapter 1. In the beginning when there was nothing, the Spirit of God hovered over the earth awaiting a command. Then God gave the command for light, and the Spirit without hesitation, manifested light. Praise God! Praise God!. Like the earth, the Spirit dwells in us awaits to manifest the command of God. And the command has gone forth. Father, continue to help us, me die to self so that Your command be made manifest without interruption. Let Your glory to be made seen through me for all to see that You love us, that You love me, that You sent Jesus here to show Your love. Yes, Lord, let everything that has breath move out of the way for the Spirit, Your Spirit to manifest and give birth to praise, Your praise, Your glory. In the name of Your righteousness, Jesus Christ. Amen.

It seems like everyone here chose this verse. Yes, Laura some times praising is a REAL sacrifice. It's a lifestyle choice we MUST decide to do it, then the feelings follow. And yes, Veronica, we were all like gen 1:1 without form and void, walking around dead. Then God breathes His spirit on us and we become alive. Alive to Him, and alive to His church, creation and plan for us. Praise God for His WONDERFUL gift!
